About Whitney
I have experience working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), supporting children, young people, and their families. I also have experience supporting adults with various challenges in life.
I provide counselling, psychotherapy, and autism diagnostic assessments. A key area of my work is neurodevelopmental differences, and I am passionate about ensuring that autism assessments are holistic, respectful, and personally meaningful. My aim is not only to explore whether a diagnosis is appropriate, but also to help individuals and families gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, strengths, and needs.
In therapy, I believe that a safe and trusting relationship is central to meaningful change. I aim to create a compassionate and supportive space where people can explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. Together, we may reflect on past relationships, patterns that may still be shaping the present, and ways of moving forward with greater understanding and self-compassion.
My training was grounded in an integrative approach, including cognitive behavioural therapy, systemic and family perspectives, play therapy and other evidence-based frameworks. In my practice, I naturally gravitate towards person-centred, psychodynamic, and strength-based approaches, adapting my work to suit the needs and goals of each individual.
Through my work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and at different stages of life, I have developed a broad perspective on how our mind can intertwine with social, and cultural contexts.
I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional challenges, and life transitions. I also have a particular interest in working with parents, including those preparing for parenthood or navigating the early stages of becoming a parent. The transition to motherhood can bring complex emotions and reflections on one’s own life story. I see this time as an important opportunity to pause, reflect, and move into this new stage of life with greater clarity and understanding.
